21 Medal new record~Michael Phelps
Michael Phelps has become the most decorated Olympian, he has won 21 medals so far! The media has been calling him the greatest athlete ever which I disagree with. The most decorated yes but greatest is an insult to great athletes like Jessie J and Carl lewis. They also didn't consider the fact its more difficult or impossible in other sports to acquire so many medals. However his achievement is unquestionable he is a fantastic athlete and will be missed when he retires.....Well done Phelps

USA Demolish Nigeria in the Olympic Basketball
Team USA the new dream team defeated Nigeria D'tigers and set a new world record for the amount of points scored in an Olympic basketball match. The US where shooting three with only a few misses, the Nigerian team who are known for their physical presence and fast breaks could not answer to the unique skills of the dream team the game ended USA 156-73 Nigeria. I cant see any team stopping the dream team from winning gold in the Olympics!

Boy 11yrs travels to Italy Unnoticed: Manchester Airport
A 11 year old boys boarded a flight from Manchester to Italy unnoticed, beating all the checks and security at the airport. Some members of staff have already been suspended until further investigation have been carried out regarding this issues. The boy did not have a ticket or passport and is belief to have a huge fascination about planes. Manchester Airport have a lot of questions to answer and should be ashamed of this situations given the security issues all airports face due to terrorism.
RIP John Atta Mills: Ghanaian President
The president of Ghana has died after being admitted to hospital, John Atta Mills was diagnosed with throat cancer. He will be so missed by not only the Ghanaian people but by the world world, he is an example of the type of leadership needed in the developing African nations. The leaders of other African countries have been sending their condolences to his family and the people of Ghana. John Dramani Mahama is being sworn in a the caretaker president until the general elections

Big Ben to chime 40 time for London 2012 Olympics
Only three days left to go until the 2012 Olympics in London, the historic landmark Big Ben will ring it's chime for 3mins (40 times) to launch the start of the Olympic. The chimes will start at 8.12am and end at 8.15am on Friday 27th July. London is the place to be this summer!

Bradley Wiggins wins Gold: Motivates others
Bradley Wiggins has become the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France, after the race Bradley has been talking about how he is preparing for the Olympic which is set to start on the 27th July. This win must have really given the GB team some motivation ahead of the games. In the last competition GB cyclist team won the most awards for their nation, hopefully they will be able to repeat their success in the London Olympics

Denver Shooting: 50 people injured!
A gun man has opened fire on people at a theatre in Denver, USA. The shooter shoot at random while people were watching the new Batman film Dark Knight Rises, police have also confirmed that the suspect has explosive at his home address. There was also reports of explosions going off during the shooting, so far 14 people have been killed and a further 50 injured. The gun man was wearing a gas mask and used a shoot gun after kicking down the door of the theatre, there was report of a second shooter but that has still not confirmed. Our prayer are with the victims and their families.
UK Border Staff Strike Ahead of Olympic!
The UK Border Agency staff will host a strike on the 26th of July 2012 a day before the Olympic kick off. The head of the Home office Theresa May has spoke out condemning the strike, this is another blow to the organisers of the event as well as the people of Britain. This action is really frustrating for the millions of unemployed people who would gladly take up their positions, and are desperately seeking work.
